Deloitte relaunched the second year of the partnership with a reception hosted by Ian Botham.
Deloitte relaunched the second year of the partnership with a reception hosted by Ian Botham.
*Professional services firm Deloitte chose Leukaemia Research and the British Heart Foundation as their nominated national charities for 2005/2006.

In the first year, Deloitte smashed their original fundraising target, and so doubled their target to £1million and for the first time ever, extended the partnership. The dedication and support of Deloitte people was absolutely fantastic and in just 3 years they raised a record £2.02million.

Deloitte took part in a whole host of our fundraising events including runs, triathlons, and bikeathons as well as holding wear red days, black tie balls, auctions and raffles.

One of the highlights for 2007 was when 1,000 Deloitte staff took part in the annual JP Morgan Chase Challenge (5km run), raising over £100,000 for BHF & Leukaemia Research, including matched funding from the firm.

With a central Community Investment function, a team of volunteer 'Charity Champions', and a dedicated fundraising website, created by our corporate team, the coordination of fundraising was simplified.

The money raised throughout the partnership was split between both charities, and for Leukaemia Research donations were directed towards vital research into childhood leukaemia.

Jo Westhead, Community Programme Manager, said: "It has been a great pleasure to work with Leukaemia Research and the British Heart Foundation. We were delighted with the success of the partnership and feel very proud of the levels of generosity, enthusiasm and commitment shown by our people."
